Using Content Automation you can display product-images in email taken directly from your website content or a product feed. The images displayed in the email are live at the time of email open. You can combine content automation with sophisticated business rules to display these product-images based on live stock level, pricing, category, slugs and even to personalise the products displayed to a recipient's browsing or preference data.
This means you can show items that are relevant to a recipient and always the latest - automatically, and setup only once.
This is an industry first product, with no other provider or ESP having this capability directly in the Platform.
In your account, navigate to the template section.
In the template section, click on ‘Content Automation’. You can create a new template by clicking ‘+ new template’.
Enter a description. Click on the white rectangle and then click on ‘Content Source’.
You are now going to connect a data source to populate the template content. You will now see the Content Sources Library:
To use an existing feed, click on it and then click done.
To connect a new data source, click on ‘+ Add New Content Source’.
Name your datasource and select what type the content source is. It is possible to connect a json feed, xml, csv or a webpage:
Enter the end point URL and click ‘Test Request’. In the response box you will see the data available:
Save the data source.
Select the source you have just created from the library and hit done.
You have now connected your data source:
Uploading a Background Image
If you would like to upload a background image, click on the white rectangle and then click on upload image on the right hand side. The template will automatically resize to the size of the image. If you would like to adjust the size, you can do so by changing the size in the layout boxes.
Connecting the content
You can now add content blocks. Add a block by clicking on the plus icon:
Drag the box where you want it to display in the template. Use the editor box to change the style as required. Click on the link icon to connect the box to the data source:
Select the ‘Content Source’ option and then unpack the feed:
Select the field you wish to populate the content area with and click done:
You have now connected the content area with the data feed.
Build out the template with the content required:
Use the eye icon to preview the template. In the preview you can use the arrows to preview other positions within the feed:
Once you are happy with the template, click save. The template will now appear in the template library.
You can duplicate templates in the library as required.
You can now create a Content Automation campaign.
