Step 1: Creating the template

Navigate to the Templates section of the platform, select Content Automation and create a new template by clicking on '+ New Template'.

Add a description for the template and then select the 'Inspector' option on the right hand side. Click on the 'Upload image...' option to upload a background image.

Once you have uploaded you background image into the template editor, click the '+' button to add a new block. Click on the new block and drag it to where you want the personalised content to show.

To the right of there block there is a link icon; click on this to connect a source.

Select 'URL Param' and input a name for your personalisation. We have used 'firstname' in this example.

Once you've added the parameter, click done.

Now that you have added your personalizaton block, use the formatting editor to apply any custom fonts or styles. To achieve a more 3D appearance, layer two or more blocks over each other using the move forwards/backwards tool to achieve the desired look

Top tip: you can also add funtions to the personalisation area. For example, you may wish to apply a rule to the personalisation to show a default if the content is under 3 characters, or over 20.

Once you are happy with your template, click save.

Next step: Create the campaign

Navigate to the campaigns section of the platform:

Create a new campaign or select the campaign you wish to build the tag for. Select the Automatic Content widget image option from the drop down menu:

Enter a description for your Content Automation Tag and select the relevent template from the library, then click 'next'.

Next step - enter the Href and click 'next'.  You have just created your personalised image Tag. The tag will automatically pull through the parameter you added, follwed by '=value'. You need to replace 'value' with the merge code for the personalisation from your ESP.
